Construction of Atomic Metal-N2 Sites by Interlayers of Covalent Organic Frameworks for Electrochemical H2O2 Synthesis

Minghao Liu et al.

Summary: The electrosynthesis of H2O2 using a dioxin-linked covalent organic framework as a template to construct different metal-N-2 sites shows promise in achieving high selectivity and efficiency in H2O2 production. By tuning the metal centers, catalysts with Ca-N-2 sites exhibit significantly higher catalytic activity for H2O2 synthesis compared to those with Co or Ni sites. Theoretical calculations suggest that the higher efficiency of the Ca-N-2 sites is attributed to an easier OOH* desorption process, leading to efficient oxygen reduction reactions.
