Capture cross sections of formation heavy nuclei and superheavy nuclei with charge number Z = 84-118 are systematically studied using an empirical coupled-channel model. Different barrier distribution functions are constructed based on the coupling modes between target and projectile. The calculated results agree well with experimental data for most reaction systems, and the reasons for discrepancies between theory and experiment are analyzed.

The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental data for most of reaction systems. The reason for the difference between the theoretical results and the experimental values have been analyzed.
