Impact of Dietitian-Led Nutrition Therapy of Food Order on 5-Year Glycemic Control in Outpatients with Type 2 Diabetes at Primary Care Clinic: Retrospective Cohort Study

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of dietitian-led medical nutrition therapy on glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. The results showed that patients in the intervention group had a significant improvement in glycemic control after 5 years, compared to the control group. Additionally, dietary intake in the intervention group also showed improvement.

Summary: This study aimed to update the clinical practice guidelines for nutrition therapy of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes. Comparisons of 29 trial studies involving 1617 participants with moderately controlled type 1 and type 2 diabetes showed that low GI/GL dietary patterns resulted in significant improvements in glycemic control, blood lipids, adiposity, and inflammation.
