A novel hybrid carbon materials-modified electrochemical sensor used for detection of gallic acid

Achour Terbouche et al.

Summary: Novel hybrid carbon materials based on activated carbon from Algerian date palm pits were prepared and characterized, with carbon paste electrodes modified with these materials successfully detecting gallic acid using square wave voltammetry. The conductivity of the materials was compared, showing CSs/AC-CNTs to be more conductive than AC-CNTs. The oxidation current of gallic acid was found to be directly proportional to its concentration, with GC/CSs/AC-CNTs electrode and CME/GC/CSs/AC-CNTs sensor achieving low limits of detection. The reproducibility and stability of the sensor were confirmed by the relative standard deviation of the gallic acid oxidation current response.

Simultaneous electrochemical detection of gallic acid and uric acid with p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-based coordination polymer/mesoporous carbon composite

Xia Niu et al.

Summary: The design and synthesis of an efficient electrocatalyst for simultaneous determination of gallic acid (GA) and uric acid (UA) is crucial in the biological field. In this study, a new p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-based metal-organic electrocatalyst (Mn-L@MC) was synthesized by combining Mn-L and mesoporous carbon (MC) using a simple mechanical grinding method. The synergistic effect between Mn-L and MC resulted in high-efficiency electrocatalytic performance of the Mn-L@MC composite towards simultaneous detection of GA and UA. The Mn-L@MC-2 electrode material exhibited a relatively wide linear range and low detection limits for the two analytes. The remarkable electrochemical detection behavior of Mn-L@MC-2 electrode material towards GA and UA is comparable to that of sensors containing precious metals. The material showed high selectivity, superior reproducibility, and acceptable stability during the determination of the two analytes.

Investigation of temperature-dependent electrical parameters in a Schottky barrier diode with multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) interface

Huseyin Ezgin et al.

Summary: This study investigates the electrical parameters of the MWCNT/n-6H-SiC Schottky barrier diode as a function of temperature. It is observed that the MWCNTs coat the semiconductor randomly and in an entangled manner. The ideality factor and barrier heights of the diode are found to be temperature-dependent. The series resistance of MWCNTs used as an interface material can be effectively changed. The capacitance-voltage measurements reveal that the increase in diode capacitance at low frequencies is associated with interface states.

An innovative electrochemical immunosensor based on nanobody heptamer and AuNPs@ZIF-8 nanocomposites as support for the detection of alpha fetoprotein in serum

Linzhi Li et al.

Summary: A novel electrochemical immunoassay based on nanobody heptamer for ultrasensitive detection of alpha fetoprotein (AFP) is proposed. The heptamer fusion protein is prepared by fusing the AFP-specific nanobody with the C-terminal fragment of C4-binding protein. This heptamer is used as the recognizing probe to capture AFP and increase the sensitivity of the immunosensor. The combination of AuNPs@ZIF-8@MWCNTs and heptamer technologies constructed an ultrasensitive and specific immunosensor for AFP detection with a low detection limit.
