Antitissue transglutaminase antibodies' normalization after starting a gluten-free diet in a large population of celiac children-a real-life experience

Francesca Sbravati et al.

Summary: This study aimed to examine the normalization time of CD serology in children with CD on a GFD and its predictors. The results showed that the majority of patients normalized CD serology within 24 months from starting a GFD, and factors such as age, sex, ethnicity, diet adherence, and comorbidities were associated with longer time to normalization.

Diagnosing and Monitoring Celiac Patients with Selective IgA Deficiency: Still an Open Issue

Marco Di Tola et al.

Summary: The association between celiac disease (CD) and selective immunoglobulin A deficiency (SIgAD) has been known for over fifty years, but diagnosing and monitoring patients with both conditions remain challenging. The 2012 ESPGHAN guidelines provided criteria for diagnosing CD in SIgAD patients, but issues such as selecting patients for specific IgG antibody testing and choosing reliable tests for diagnosis and follow-up still need to be addressed.
