The potential role of fertilizer-derived exogenous bacteria on soil bacterial community assemblage and network formation

Yang Yang et al.

Summary: Manure fertilization introduces nutrients and exogenous microbes into soil, impacting soil bacterial communities. After 90 days of incubation, there was a decrease in the relative abundance of fertilizer-derived OTUs, while the distance between control and fertilization groups increased. Fertilizer-derived bacteria played a crucial role in shaping soil microbial communities and network formation post-fertilization.

Enhanced infiltration of fuel-contaminated hydrophobic unsaturated soil by hydrogen peroxide using surfactant, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and phytate

Prakash Gautam et al.

Summary: The study investigated the use of pretreatment with chelators to improve the stability of H2O2 in hydrophobic and fuel contaminated soil. The findings showed that pretreatment facilitated H2O2 infiltration and resulted in effective removal of diesel oil from the soil. This study provides valuable insights into the remediation process of soil through chemical oxidation after natural H2O2 infiltration.

Succession of microbial communities and synergetic effects during bioremediation of petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated soil enhanced by chemical oxidation

Lisha Zhen et al.

Summary: The research found that the application of degrading consortia and modified Fenton (MF) reagents can enhance the removal efficiency of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil, promote changes in enzyme activities, and drive microbial community succession. Proper proportions of components in MF reagents can simplify relationships between microbial populations, alleviate competition, and strengthen associations, ultimately optimizing bioremediation efficiency.
