Seed-Mediated Synthesis of Gold Nanorods at Low Concentrations of CTAB

Ming-Zhang Wei et al.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized gold nanorods with tunable size and aspect ratio, high monodispersity, and high purity by using the seed-mediated method and very low concentrations of CTAB. The growth conditions were optimized to achieve these results, and the method may be extended to synthesize other nanomaterials at such low CTAB concentrations.

Controlled synthesis of Mg(OH)2 nanorods using basic magnesium chloride as precursor

Shu-Jing Chai et al.

Summary: The successful preparation of Mg(OH)(2) nanorods using a two-step method without the need for surfactants or catalysts was achieved. The influences of synthesis parameters on the morphology and size of the nanoparticles were investigated, with XRD and FESEM used for characterization. This low-cost, environmentally friendly method shows promise for scalable industrial production.
