Predictor-based periodic event-triggered control for nonlinear uncertain systems with input delay

Jiankun Sun et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the problem of predictor-based periodic event-triggered control for a class of nonlinear uncertain systems subject to input delay. A novel predictor-based continuous-discrete observer is designed to estimate system state when only sampled-data output is available, and an event-triggered controller is proposed to globally exponentially stabilize the nonlinear uncertain system. The effects of input delay and sampling of output can be considerably compensated thanks to prediction technique. The proposed event-triggering mechanism is detected in the form of discrete-time, avoiding the Zeno behavior. Some stability conditions on maximum allowable sampling period and input delay are presented using feedback domination technique and small-gain argument.

Alternate periodic event-triggered control for synchronization of multilayer neural networks

Dongsheng Xu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the exponential synchronization of multilayer neural networks (MNNs) using alternate periodic event-triggered control (APETC). A novel APETC is proposed, which combines aperiodically intermittent control (AIC) and periodic event-triggered mechanism. The control and rest intervals of APETC are determined based on the present state of the system, and the event-triggered conditions not only update the control signals but also control the actuation and close of the controller. By introducing the sampling period, the number of event triggers is reduced and the Zeno phenomenon is completely avoided. Synchronization criteria for MNNs under APETC are established using Lyapunov method and graph theory. Numerical simulations are conducted to demonstrate the validity of the theoretical results.

Necessary and Sufficient Conditions of Formation-Containment Control of High-Order Multiagent Systems With Observer-Type Protocols

Xin Gong et al.

Summary: This work addresses the analysis and design problems of formation-containment control for high-order linear time-invariant multiagent systems (MASs) on directed graphs with observer-based output-feedback protocols. By introducing two well-structured compensation signals, the feasibility of state formation configuration is expanded, and the decoupling between formation control of leaders and containment control of followers is achieved. A necessary and sufficient condition is established for achieving formation-containment control, and a heuristic iterative algorithm is developed to compute the controller gains, observer gains, and compensation signals. Numerical examples demonstrate the validity and practicability of the theoretical results and algorithm.
