Search for a Scalar Induced Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background in the Third LIGO-Virgo Observing Run

Alba Romero-Rodriguez et al.

Summary: This study performs a Bayesian search for a scalar-induced gravitational wave background in the data from Advanced LIGO and Virgo. The search finds no evidence for such a background and places upper limits on the curvature power spectrum peak. The resulting constraints are stronger than those from other methods like big bang nucleosynthesis or cosmic microwave background observations.

The third order scalar induced gravitational waves

Jing-Zhi Zhou et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the third order induced gravitational waves and presents the two point function and energy density spectrum of these waves using observations on a monochromatic primordial power spectrum. The study finds that the shape of the energy density spectrum of the third order gravitational waves is different from that of the second order scalar induced gravitational waves. Additionally, it is discovered that the third order gravitational waves sourced by the second order scalar perturbations dominate the two point function and energy density spectrum of third order scalar induced gravitational waves.

The cosmological vector modes from a monochromatic primordial power spectrum

Zhe Chang et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the second order and third order vector modes in a radiation-dominated era. The results show that a monochromatic primordial power spectrum can generate third order vector modes, and the third order vector modes sourced by the second order scalar perturbations dominate the two point function and corresponding power spectra.

Impact of the free-streaming neutrinos to the second order induced gravitational waves

Xukun Zhang et al.

Summary: The damping effect of free-streaming neutrinos on second order gravitational waves is investigated in detail. The energy density spectrum is obtained, showing that free-streaming neutrinos significantly suppress the density spectrum of low frequency gravitational waves and increase the logarithmic slope in the infrared region.

Non-Gaussianity and the induced gravitational wave background

Peter Adshead et al.

Summary: We studied the impact of scalar metric fluctuations on the generation of gravitational waves, emphasizing the role of primordial non-Gaussianity, especially the disconnected and connected components of the primordial trispectrum. By calculating all contributions, we obtained results for various enhanced primordial curvature power spectra.

Analytic solutions of scalar perturbations induced by scalar perturbations

Keisuke Inomata

Summary: This study focuses on scalar perturbations induced by non-linear interactions at second order in perturbations. Analytic solutions for induced scalar perturbations in a perfect fluid are derived, with specific consideration for perturbations in radiation-dominated and matter-dominated eras. The evolution of induced scalar perturbations from outside to inside the horizon is also discussed using the analytic solutions.

Constraints on primordial black holes

Bernard Carr et al.

Summary: In this article, constraints on the fraction of the Universe that may have gone into primordial black holes (PBHs) over a range of masses are updated. The discussion covers the reasons why PBHs smaller than a certain mass threshold are constrained and the various constraints on PBHs larger than that threshold.

Scalar Induced Gravitational Waves Review

Guillem Domenech

Summary: This review provides an overview of gravitational waves induced by primordial fluctuations, focusing on the intuitive physics and general analytical formulation behind induced gravitational waves. It suggests the open possibility of a different expansion history in the primordial universe than the commonly assumed radiation dominated cosmology, and aims to raise awareness of current advances in the cosmology of induced gravitational waves.
