Researchers report a photocatalyst based on indium-gallium-nitride that achieves a solar-to-hydrogen efficiency of -9%, providing a significant step towards the industrial implementation of this technology.
Although state-of-the-art photocatalysts display a solar-to-hydrogen (STH) efficiency lower than 3%, Zhou et al. report in Nature an in-dium-gallium-nitride-based photocatalyst that can achieve an STH effi-ciency of -9%. These unprecedented results could get us closer to the industrial implementation of this technology.
