What predicts poor outcome after successful thrombectomy in early time window?

Jean-Marc Olivot et al.

Summary: Among patients with large vessel occlusion-related acute ischemic stroke treated with endovascular reperfusion, baseline imaging profile may predict treatment outcome. Older age, higher NIHSS score, internal carotid artery occlusion, absence of a penumbra, and post-EVT hemorrhage were associated with poor outcome. Strategies to preserve the penumbra may improve patient outcomes.

What predicts poor outcome after successful thrombectomy in late time windows?

Jeremy J. Heit et al.

Summary: Older age, female gender, higher NIHSS score, poor cerebral perfusion collaterals, larger core infarctions, and delayed time from imaging to arterial puncture were associated with poor outcomes following successful thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke treatment. Mild and severe reperfusion hemorrhage also predicted poor outcomes in late time windows.

Association of inflammatory and platelet volume markers with clinical outcome in patients with anterior circulation ischaemic stroke after endovascular thrombectomy

Zhongyun Chen et al.

Summary: The study found that platelet volume indices and inflammatory indices are associated with the severity of stroke and clinical outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke after endovascular thrombectomy. Further analysis revealed that higher neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is an independent risk factor for predicting unfavorable outcomes.

Mean Platelet Volume is a Prognostic Marker in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients Treated with Intravenous Thrombolysis

Filipa Dourado Sotero et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the association between platelet parameters and prognosis in stroke patients treated with rtPA, finding that higher mean platelet volume (MPV) values were associated with unfavorable prognosis. However, there were no significant associations between other platelet parameters and prognosis.
