The results showed that contact sports at ACL injury, specific bone bruising, and Segond fracture were associated with meniscal ramp lesions. Therefore, meniscal ramp lesions should be systematically searched for on MRI in patients with ACL injuries.

Increased Posterior Tibial Slope and Meniscal Slope Could Be Risk Factors for Meniscal Injuries: A Systematic Review

Summary: This systematic review aimed to examine the relationship between posterior tibial slope (PTS) and meniscal slope (MS) and the incidence of meniscal injury. The review included 16 studies with a total of 2,670 patients. The findings suggest that an increased lateral PTS is associated with a higher risk of lateral meniscal tears and lateral meniscal posterior root tears, while an increased medial MS is related to a higher risk of ramp lesions.

No significant differences were found in tibial and meniscal slopes between patients with or without ramp lesions undergoing ACLR.
