AC response of spin-pseudospin current in a double quantum well

Toshiya Ishikawa et al.

Summary: This study investigates the spin Hall effect due to skew scattering in a double quantum well, revealing the dynamics of spin-pseudospin current under the application of an inplane electric field. The findings suggest that the spin-pseudospin coupling can be utilized to control spin polarization in electronic systems.

Magnetic memory driven by topological insulators

Hao Wu et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a TI-MTJ device with a high tunneling magnetoresistance ratio and low switching current density at room temperature, showing great potential for TI-driven magnetic memory. The results suggest a potential revolution of SOT-MRAM from classical to quantum materials, with the ability to further reduce energy consumption.

Structural, electrical and optical properties of bilayer SiX (X = N, P, As and Sb)

Nayereh Ghobadi et al.

Summary: In this study, the structural, electrical, and optical properties of bilayer SiX (X= N, P, As, and Sb) were investigated using density functional theory. The bandgap of these materials can be tuned by strain, with the highest sensitivity observed in bilayer SiSb to pressure. The compounds exhibit Mexican hat-like valence band dispersion, validated by a singularity in the density of states.

Field-induced transition within the superconducting state of CeRh2As2

S. Khim et al.

Summary: Materials with multiple superconducting phases are rare, but CeRh2As2 has been discovered to exhibit two-phase unconventional superconductivity. The high critical field of 14 tesla in its high-field phase, combined with a transition between different superconducting phases in a c-axis magnetic field, is likely related to the local inversion-symmetry breaking and staggered Rashba coupling introduced at the cerium sites.
