Rational and site-selective formation of coordination polymers consisting of d10 coinage metal ions with thiolate ligands using a metal ion-doped polymer substrate

Takaaki Tsuruoka et al.

Summary: An interfacial approach for fabricating coordination polymers (CPs) consisting of d(10) coinage metal ions with thiolate ligands on a polymer substrate is reported. CPs were found to selectively form on the polymer substrate, resulting in the formation of CP-based thin films. Additionally, a mixed metal ion-doped polymer substrate leads to the formation of mixed-metal CP-based films.

Sustainable and Efficient Low-Energy Light Emitters: A Series of One-Dimensional d10 Coinage Metal-Organic Chalcogenolates, [M(o-SPhCO2H)]n

Oleksandra Veselska et al.

Summary: A series of d(10) coinage metal thiosalicylate coordination polymers (CPs) were reported, with 1D structures formed by M3S3 fused hexagons for Cu and Ag compounds and interpenetrated helical chains for Au CP. Depending on the metal, solid-state red and NIR emissive CPs were obtained with quantum yields up to 50%, providing a great opportunity to replace actual emissive critical raw materials.

A chiral 3D silver(i)-benzenedithiolate coordination polymer exhibiting photoemission and non-linear optical response

Saly Hawila et al.

Summary: A new tridimensional metal-organic chalcogenolate, [Ag-2(1,3-BDT)](n), containing a 1,3-benzenedithiolate bridging ligand and Ag(i), is reported. This coordination polymer exhibits good thermal stability in air and shows photoluminescence properties as well as a second harmonic generation response.

Circularly polarised luminescence in an RNA-based homochiral, self-repairing, coordination polymer hydrogel

Osama El-Zubir et al.

Summary: This article discusses the properties of a one-dimensional coordination polymer formed by the reaction of Ag(i) ions with the thionucleoside enantiomer. The study found that the resulting polymer has a left-handed helical chain structure and exhibits enhanced chiro-optical response compared to the parent ligand. Experimental results also show that at higher concentrations, the reaction forms a self-repairing hydrogel that exhibits circularly polarised luminescence.
