Femtosecond laser comb driven perpendicular standing spin waves

A. A. Awad et al.

Summary: This study investigates the sustained and coherent spin wave generation in Permalloy films using a femtosecond laser comb. The results demonstrate that the laser comb can excite perpendicular standing spin waves up to the third order and 18 multiples of the 1 GHz laser repetition rate in thicker films.

Accumulation and control of spin waves in magnonic dielectric microresonators by a comb of ultrashort laser pulses

A. E. Khramova et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a new method for tuning the excitation of different spin wave modes in magnetic microdisks. By using a high repetition rate of laser pulses, an interplay between spin wave resonances in the frequency and momentum domains is established. Additionally, a switching between volume and surface spin waves is achieved through small variations of the external magnetic field.

Femtosecond Laser Pulse Driven Caustic Spin Wave Beams

S. Muralidhar et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the control of spin wave directionality using an all-optical pointlike source, which emits spin waves with various k vectors. By adjusting the applied magnetic field and the frequency of the light source, different spin wave propagation patterns can be observed, providing additional degrees of freedom for designing magnonic devices.
