Adsorption mechanisms of azo dyes binary mixture onto different raw palm wastes

Karima Azoulay et al.

Summary: This study aimed to understand the adsorption mechanism of dyes in a binary system onto different raw palm wastes and highlighted its high efficiency for the removal of methylene blue and methyl orange in competition in aqueous solution. The specific surface characteristics and morphology of the raw palm wastes were studied, and the effects of different factors on the adsorption process were evaluated using central composite design. The results showed that the adsorption of the mixture of methylene blue and methyl orange followed a pseudo-first-order kinetic model and could be described by the Langmuir isotherm model.

Adsorption of (methylene blue) onto natural oil shale: kinetics of adsorption, isotherm and thermodynamic studies

Maryem Rahmani et al.

Summary: This study investigates the valorisation of natural oil shale and the adsorption effectiveness of methylene blue dye onto the material. The results show that the natural oil shale is rich in quartz and calcite, while the matrix clay contains kaolin and illite with a layer structure. The adsorption of methylene blue onto the natural oil shale follows a pseudo-second-order kinetics model and Langmuir isotherm.

Removal Efficiency of Textile Dyes from Aqueous Solutions Using Calcined Waste of Eggshells as Eco-friendly Adsorbent: Kinetic and Thermodynamic Studies

R. Slimani et al.

Summary: This study investigates the use of low-cost adsorbent prepared from eggshell waste for the removal of textile dyes from aqueous solution. The Langmuir model showed the best correlation, with maximum adsorption capacities for Rhodamine B and Alizarin Red S. Thermodynamic studies indicated the adsorption process as feasible, spontaneous, and exothermic. Regeneration study demonstrated the potential reusability of calcined eggshell adsorbent for dye removal.
