The rising crack resistance curve behavior and mechanism of La2O3 doped zirconia toughened alumina composites prepared via vat photopolymerization based 3D printing

Summary: This study combines liquid precursor infiltration and vat photopolymerization-based 3D printing to fabricate zirconia toughened alumina. The effects of different infiltration systems are investigated and it is found that the Zr4+/La3+ system shows improved toughness due to the presence of rod-like LaAl11O18 grains. This provides a new toughening strategy for ceramic 3D printing.

Double benzylidene ketones as photoinitiators for visible light photopolymerization

Summary: In this study, four novel double benzylidene ketone dyes were synthesized and demonstrated to have good charge transfer characteristics and high absorption capability. These dyes can be used as photoinitiators or charge transfer sensitizers to initiate photopolymerization under specific light sources. New acyl phosphine oxides as high-performance and low migration type I photoinitiators of radical polymerization

Summary: Two low migration acylphosphine oxide photoinitiators (APO and DAPO) containing unsaturated C=C double bonds have been designed and synthesized for free radical polymerization. The properties and performances of APO and DAPO were evaluated and compared with a commercial photoinitiator, showing that DAPO exhibited the best double bond conversion and lower migration, making it a potential candidate for industrial applications.
