We study the relativistic corrections to the J/ψ decay into a proton-antiproton final state. By calculating the relativistic QCD corrections to the dominant decay amplitude, which only depend on the nucleon twist-3 light-cone distribution amplitudes, we find that the collinear factorization is also valid beyond the leading-order approximation. Our numerical estimates show that the relativistic correction can have a significant impact on the decay amplitude.
