Identification of a novel major QTL from Chinese wheat cultivar Ji5265 for Fusarium head blight resistance in greenhouse

Hanwen Li et al.

Summary: Fusarium head blight (FHB) resistance is an important trait in wheat breeding, and a major QTL, QFhb-2DL, has been identified in the Chinese wheat cultivar Ji5265. The development of diagnostic markers KASP10238 and KASP12056 allows for marker-assisted selection in wheat breeding programs to improve FHB resistance.

Identification and Validation of Quantitative Trait Loci for Grain Size in Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Wenjing Hu et al.

Summary: This study identified key genetic loci for grain width and grain length in wheat and validated their significant effects on these traits. Candidate genes associated with these loci were also identified. These findings will contribute to the development of high-yielding and stable wheat cultivars.

Molecular Mapping of Quantitative Trait Loci for Fusarium Head Blight Resistance in a Doubled Haploid Population of Chinese Bread Wheat

Zhanwang Zhu et al.

Summary: A study on wheat Fusarium head blight resistance identified 7 QTL associated with FHB resistance in 174 wheat lines. The study found that plant height, anther extrusion, and days to anthesis may play a role in FHB resistance.

Genetic control of Fusarium head blight resistance in two Yangmai 158-derived recombinant inbred line populations

Haisheng Yan et al.

Summary: The elite wheat cultivar Yangmai 158 (Y158) in China has stable resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB), with six identified QTL associated with better resistance, including one stably expressed QTL for type I resistance and one stably expressed QTL for type II resistance. Genetic variations in plant height and flowering time were also studied, but no QTL associated with FHB resistance were found among them. The SNP markers flanking the resistance QTL have been converted into breeder-friendly PCR-based markers for practical applications in breeding programs.

Quantitative trait loci for Fusarium head blight resistance in wheat cultivars Yangmai 158 and Zhengmai 9023

Pingping Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a population of 236 F-5:7 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) was developed using two popular Chinese wheat cultivars to identify QTL for FHB resistance. The study identified 6 QTL for FHB resistance, with 3 of them being repeatable in both experiments. Different resistance alleles were contributed by Zhengmai 9023 and Yangmai 158 at various QTL, showing additive effects when stacked together.
