A Novel Planar Grounded Capacitively Coupled Contactless Conductivity Detector for Microchip Electrophoresis

Jianjiao Wang et al.

Summary: This article proposes a novel design of a planar grounded capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detector (PG-C4D) based on a printed circuit board (PCB) to reduce the effect of stray capacitance. The effectiveness of the design has been verified through electrical field simulation and electrophoresis detection experiments. The PG-C4D with this new design shows improved sensitivity and repeatability, making it suitable for applications in agricultural and environmental monitoring.

An improved dual-channel capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detector with high detection performance

Hongyu Nie et al.

Summary: In this study, a multi-input capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detector (MICD)-D-4 was proposed with high sensitivity, and further improved by combining it with differential detection to form (DFMICD)-D-4. The new detector showed improved performance compared to traditional single-input and double-input detectors, with a higher response-to-baseline ratio and a low limit of detection (0.7 nM). It can be applied to the detection of low-conductivity solutions and total dissolved solids (TDS) analysis, demonstrating its versatility and superiority over standard conductivity meters.

Separation and determination of alkyl sulfate surfactants in wastewater by capillary electrophoresis coupled with contactless conductivity detection after preconcentration by simultaneous adsorption using alumina beads

Huy Dong Pham et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to determine different anionic alkyl sulfate surfactants in wastewater using capillary electrophoresis with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection. Through systematic optimization, it was found that Tris-His BGE solution at a specific pH, with specific injection parameters, and use of Al2O3 beads for adsorption and preconcentration, resulted in accurate quantification of the surfactants. The results obtained were consistent with those from HPLC-MS/MS, indicating that this method is a new, cost-effective, and suitable approach for analyzing AS surfactants in wastewater.
