Dielectric rod loaded tunable substrate integrated waveguide slot antenna

Sriparna De et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel passive tuning technique using cylindrical rods of different dielectric materials to mechanically tune the resonant frequency of a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot antenna. The tunability is obtained by changing the relative permittivity of the dielectric rods. Measurements show good frequency tunability and gains over 5 dBi, with similarity in radiation patterns. The technique is simple, effective, and does not require external bias circuitry, leading to reduced parasitic effects and power consumption.

Differential-to-single-ended crossover based on dumbbell-shaped defected ground resonators for dual-band applications

Hamed Shahi et al.

Summary: This article introduces a novel DS crossover design using two rings with controllable frequency ratio of CRLH transmission lines and DGRs for differential mode transmission coefficient suppression. Theoretical analysis shows that the frequency ratio can be controlled by choosing the number and parameter values of CRLH cells. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed structure performs well in both frequency bands and has good out-of-band differential insertion loss rejection.

High Gain and Wideband Multi-Stack Multilayer Anisotropic Dielectric Antenna

Farhad Moayyed et al.

Summary: The multi-stack anisotropic cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna reported in the study demonstrates high gain and wide bandwidth. The use of multi-stack, multilayer structure contributes to the antenna's performance in producing wide impedance bandwidth and high gain. Simulated and measured results indicate a wide impedance bandwidth of 37% and a maximum gain of 9.25 dB.

Substrate integrated waveguide filter based on the magnetized ferrite with tunable capability

M. Mohammadi Shirkolaei et al.

Summary: This paper presents a miniaturized substrate integrated waveguide filter on the magnetized ferrite, which has a small size, high power transmission capability, relatively good bandwidth, and tunable frequency bandwidth. The filter is tunable due to the magnetic bias applied to the ferrite substrate, with a wide adjustment on the operation frequency. The filter is optimized using Ansoft HFSS software and has achieved good agreement between simulation and experimental results.
