The emission order of hydrogen isotopes via correlation functions in 30 MeV/u Ar+Au reactions

Yijie Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, intensity interferometry was used as a chronometer to investigate the particle emission order of hydrogen isotopes from an intermediate velocity source formed in Ar-40+Au-197 reactions. The correlation functions of nonidentical particle pairs revealed a dynamic emission order of tau(p)> tau(d)> tau(t). Assuming a similar source size, the correlation functions of identical particle pairs also showed the same emission order, with tau(p) approximately equal to 100 fm/c.

Constraining neutron-star matter with microscopic and macroscopic collisions

Sabrina Huth et al.

Summary: Studying dense matter is crucial for understanding high-energy astrophysical phenomena, and data from heavy-ion collision experiments provide valuable insights in addition to astrophysical observations. By combining data from various sources, including heavy-ion collisions and microscopic nuclear theory calculations, researchers found significant improvements in their understanding of dense matter and its consistency with observations.

Probing the high-density nuclear symmetry energy with the Xi(-)/Xi(0) ratio in heavy-ion collisions at root s(NN) approximate to 3 GeV

Gao-Chan Yong et al.

Summary: Recent experiments have shown that the dense medium formed in high baryon density region of heavy-ion collisions is likely hadronic matter. The ratio of Xi(-)/Xi(0) is found to have the strongest sensitivity to the variation of high-density nuclear symmetry energy, suggesting its potential in probing the poorly known symmetry energy of dense neutron-rich matter, which is critically important for understanding neutron stars.

CSHINE for studies of HBT correlation in heavy ion reactions

Yi-Jie Wang et al.

Summary: The CSHINE is a compact spectrometer designed for studying isospin chronology and the nuclear equation of state, using SSD telescopes and avalanche counters to measure light charged particles and fission fragments. Results from observing 40Ar +197Au reactions show high isotopic resolution for hydrogen and helium, allowing construction of HBT correlation functions for light charged particles.

Probing the Symmetry Energy with the Spectral Pion Ratio

J. Estee et al.

Summary: By measuring the ratio of charged pion spectra at high transverse momenta, we deduced the slope of the symmetry energy to be 42 < L < 117 MeV, which is slightly lower but consistent with the L values deduced from a recent measurement of the neutron skin thickness of Pb-208.

Progress in Constraining Nuclear Symmetry Energy Using Neutron Star Observables Since GW170817

Bao-An Li et al.

Summary: The density dependence of nuclear symmetry energy is one of the most uncertain parts of the Equation of State (EOS) of dense neutron-rich nuclear matter. New observational data of neutron stars since GW170817 have contributed to an improved understanding of nuclear symmetry energy, particularly at high densities.
