PRIME: An Optimal Pricing Scheme for Mobile Sensors-as-a-Service

Summary: In this article, a pricing scheme called PRIME is proposed for optimizing the distribution of financial profit in the mobile sensor-cloud architecture. The scheme considers the presence of various actors and uses a Lagrangian multiplier method to determine an optimal pricing strategy. PRIME also allows end-users to select a suitable service provider based on reputation. Experimental results show that PRIME significantly increases the profit for sensor and device owners, and outperforms the traditional sensor-cloud architecture.

Safe-Serv: Energy-Efficient Decision Delivery for Provisioning Safety-as-a-Service

Summary: In this article, we introduce a energy-efficient decision delivery mechanism called Safe-Serv for the Safety-as-a-Service infrastructure in the road transportation industry. Safe-Serv reduces energy consumption by eliminating redundant data transmission and uses cooperative Nash bargaining approach to select appropriate sensor nodes for data transmission. Simulation results show that Safe-Serv reduces energy dissipation by approximately 85% and 78% compared to existing schemes.
