Incidence of cancer after asthma development: 2 independent population-based cohort studies

Ala Woo et al.

Summary: The study found that adults with asthma had a 75% greater risk of incident cancer, with the risk being highest in the first 2 years after diagnosis. Patients with nonatopic asthma had a higher risk of overall cancer than those with atopic asthma. High cumulative dose of inhaled corticosteroids was associated with a reduced risk of lung cancer, but not overall cancer. Results from two different Korean cohorts showed a consistent association between asthma development and subsequent cancer risk.

Vascular inflammation in moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis is associated with enhanced Th2 response

Axel P. Villani et al.

Summary: The study found significant correlations between vascular inflammation and Th2-related products in the skin and blood of AD patients, as well as atherosclerosis-related markers modulated by dupilumab. Circulating levels of endothelial microparticles were significantly higher in severe AD patients and tended to correlate with vascular inflammation.
