Ocular surface disorder among adult patients with type II diabetes mellitus and its correlation with tear film markers: A pilot study

Summary: The study found that patients with diabetes mellitus have poorer ocular surface conditions, more severe dry eye symptoms, and significantly higher levels of TNF-alpha in tears. Conjunctival impression cytology could not conclusively differentiate the dry eye status in patients with DM from controls.
