10 PW peak power femtosecond laser pulses at ELI-NP

Christophe Radier et al.

Summary: We present the generation and delivery of 10.2 PW peak power laser pulses using the High Power Laser System at the Extreme Laser Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics facility. This work demonstrates, to the best of our knowledge, the compression and propagation of full energy, full aperture, laser pulses reaching a power level of more than 10 PW.

Boosting strong-coupling stimulated Brillouin amplification performance using an external magnetic field

Zhaoli Li et al.

Summary: This study presents a method to improve the amplification performance of strong-coupling stimulated Brillouin scattering by adding an external static magnetic field. Simulation results demonstrate that the output seed intensity can be increased by applying an external magnetic field and a right-hand circularly polarized laser pulse when the laser intensity is low. Additionally, adjusting the magnetic field dynamically, such as using a double pass scheme, can maximize the output pulse intensity and profile smoothing.

Mitigating parametric instabilities in plasmas by sunlight-like lasers

H. H. Ma et al.

Summary: Theoretical formulation of sunlight-like lasers with continuous broad frequency spectrum, random phase spectrum, and random polarization has been proposed. Numerical simulations show that using sunlight-like laser beams with a relative bandwidth of around 1% can effectively control the intensity threshold of stimulated Raman scattering, reducing the generation of hot electrons harmful to inertial confinement fusion. This has significant implications for the future development of laser technology.
