Effects of Different Resistance Exercise Forms on Body Composition and Muscle Strength in Overweight and/or Obese Individuals: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the effects of different forms of resistance training on body composition and muscle strength in overweight and/or obese individuals. The results indicated that resistance bands were more effective in reducing body fat, while own body weight training was better for increasing skeletal muscle mass. Furthermore, there was no significant difference in muscle strength improvement among the three forms of exercise.

Getting a Grip on Secular Changes: Age-Period-Cohort Modeling of Grip Strength in the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing

Each year's increase in age was linked to a 0.40-kg decrease in grip strength, and this decline varies by gender.
