A 19% efficient and stable organic photovoltaic device enabled by a guest nonfullerene acceptor with fibril-like morphology

Hu Chen et al.

Summary: A nonfullerene acceptor isoIDITC with fibril-like morphology is utilized as a third component in organic photovoltaic devices, achieving a power conversion efficiency of 19%. The ternary blend shows an alloy model and a well-defined fibril-like network, enhancing crystallization and improving carrier mobility and lifetime compared to binary devices. The use of isoIDITC suppresses demixing and increases T80 lifetime, making it an important component for high-performance and stable ternary OPVs.

Achieving Record-Efficiency Organic Solar Cells upon Tuning the Conformation of Solid Additives

Congqi Li et al.

Summary: Volatile solid additives (SADs) are a simple and effective method to adjust the film morphology of high-performance organic solar cells (OSCs). This study designed and synthesized two volatilizable SADs, and the results revealed that the planar SAD2 can more easily insert between Y6 molecules, leading to a tighter molecular packing mode and improved photovoltaic performance.

Intercalation and Ordering of F6TCNNQ and F4TCNQ Dopants in Regioregular Poly(3-hexylthiophene) Crystals: Impact on Anisotropic Thermoelectric Properties of Oriented Thin Films

Viktoriia Untilova et al.

Summary: Redox doping is widely utilized to enhance the thermoelectric properties of polymer semiconductors by transforming them into conducting polymers. The study presents a structural model for F(6)TCNNQ-doped P3HT, highlighting the improved order of F(6)TCNNQ molecules compared to F(4)TCNQ in the crystals, leading to enhanced charge conductivities and thermoelectric power factors.
