Highly Efficient MoS2 Nanocatalysts for Slurry-Phase Hydrogenation of Unconventional Feedstocks into Fuels

Anda Zheng et al.

Summary: Highly active MoS2 nanocatalysts were synthesized by tuning the precursors and synthesis solvents, showing excellent selectivity and hydrogenation percentage for unconventional feedstocks. The nanostructures of QSL MoS2 catalyst, such as small grain size and high surface area, contribute to its outstanding catalytic performance in the slurry-phase hydrogenation reaction.

Oriented assembly of monomicelles in beam stream enabling bimodal mesoporous metal oxide nanofibers

Pengpeng Qiu et al.

Summary: A facile strategy to synthesize 1D bimodal mesoporous metal oxides nanofibers through assembling organic-inorganic composite monomicelles in a beam stream has been demonstrated. The fabricated WO3 and its derivatives exhibit uniform continuous fibrous structure with dual mesopore sizes and large surface area. Gas sensors made by Pd-decorated mesoporous WO3 NFs display outstanding sensing performance to ethylbenzene, making them promising for rapid environmental monitoring.

Layer-structure adjustable MoS2 catalysts for the slurry-phase hydrogenation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

Donge Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, MoS2 catalysts were synthesized using different methods, revealing that ball-milling method stabilized MoS2 catalysts with 6-8 layers and 30 nm lateral size, while the hydrothermal method produced MoS2 catalysts with smaller lateral sizes and fewer stacking layers. The catalytic activities of MoS2 catalysts were found to be closely related to their layer structures, with the catalyst showing the highest catalytic activity characterized by 100% rim sites and a lateral size of 5-10 nm.
