Linear growth of structure in projected massive gravity

Yusuke Manita et al.

Summary: In this paper, we investigate the linear growth of matter fluctuations using a specific model of projected massive gravity. We find that the modification to the linear growth is strongly suppressed at subhorizon scales, even without nonlinear screening of an additional force. In addition, our observational constraints are consistent with the theoretical predictions.

Constraints on dark photon dark matter using data from LIGO's and Virgo's third observing run

R. Abbott et al.

Summary: This paper presents a search for dark photon dark matter that could couple to gravitational-wave interferometers. By using data from Advanced LIGO and Virgo, two methods were used in the analysis, and no evidence of dark photon dark matter was found. Upper limits on the square of the minimum coupling of dark photons to baryons were provided.

Minimal theory of massive gravity and constraints on the graviton mass

Antonio De Felice et al.

Summary: The Minimal theory of Massive Gravity (MTMG) includes two tensor modes in the gravity sector with non-zero mass, showing self-accelerating and normal branches with constraints on the graviton mass for the latter branch giving an upper bound at 95%CL as mu(0) < 8.4 x 10(-34) eV.

Searching for spin-2 ULDM with gravitational waves interferometers

Juan Manuel Armaleo et al.

Summary: The study shows that ultra-light dark matter of spin two, interacting with Standard Model fields through its universal coupling alpha, generates a signal similar but distinct from continuous gravitational waves, detectable by current and planned gravitational wave interferometers. Implementation of these searches for gravitational wave interferometers would deepen our understanding of both dark matter and gravity.

Probing new light gauge bosons with gravitational-wave interferometers using an adapted semicoherent method

Andrew L. Miller et al.

Summary: In this study, a method originally developed for detecting gravitational-wave signals was adapted to directly detect new light gauge bosons which may be candidates for dark matter. The approach optimally selects the analysis coherence time as a function of boson mass to confine all signal power to one frequency bin. An end-to-end analysis scheme was provided, computational costs estimated, and follow-up techniques explored to confirm or rule out dark matter candidates. Theoretical estimates of sensitivity were derived and shown to align with empirical sensitivity, with upper limits on the coupling of gauge bosons to interferometers presented.

Vector dark matter production from inflation with symmetry breaking

Summary: This model presents a mechanism for the production of vector dark matter at the end of inflation, with couplings introduced to prevent energy decay. It predicts the formation of cosmic strings at the end of inflation and can explain the observed abundance of dark matter.

Improved sensitivity of interferometric gravitational-wave detectors to ultralight vector dark matter from the finite light-traveling time

Soichiro Morisaki et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that gravitational-wave detectors are sensitive to ultralight vector dark matter, and taking into account the effect of finite light-traveling time significantly improves their sensitivity. In the future, the sensitivity of gravitational-wave detectors will be overwhelmingly better than the current ones.
