Theoretical study of exciton-exciton annihilation dynamics in the approximation of weak coupling

Fan Xu-Yang et al.

Summary: The dynamics of exciton-exciton annihilation in molecular aggregates was studied using rate equations within the framework of density matrix theory. It was found that changes in intermolecular distance affect the generation rate of higher-order excited states, and the dipole moment of these states plays a key role in exciton fusion. Experimental results confirmed the simulated dynamics at different excitation energy levels.

The configuration effect on the exciton dynamics of zinc chlorin aggregates

An Wei et al.

Summary: This study investigates the excitonic energy transfer among zinc chlorin molecules arranged in different aggregation modes. Through density matrix theory analysis, it is found that inter-molecular coupling leads to the formation of an exciton band. Furthermore, the dipole configuration effect results in attractive or repulsive behavior of the wave-packet excited by resonant laser pulse at the exciton level.

Exciton-exciton annihilation in molecular aggregations

Mao Jiang-Qi et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the dynamics of exciton-exciton annihilation in molecular aggregations using a classical rate equation scheme. It is found that J-aggregates have a higher annihilation rate than H-aggregates, and high-intensity external fields can increase the rate of exciton-exciton annihilation. The dipole configuration and the decay rate of higher excited state of molecules play significant roles in the annihilation process, providing potential ways to control exciton-exciton annihilation in molecular aggregations.
