This paper proposes a new method for controlling permanent magnet synchronous machines, considering both with and without field weakening. The method utilizes Sequential Model Predictive Control using high-frequency injection and reference generation from the analytical solution of the Maximum Torque Per Ampere curve. Results demonstrate reduced torque ripple and current total harmonic distortion compared to the Field Oriented Control technique under nominal conditions.
This paper proposes a new method for controlling permanent magnet synchronous machines with and without field weakening. It is proposed to use the Sequential Model Predictive Control technique with high-frequency injection and reference generation from the analytical solution of the Maximum Torque Per Ampere (MTPA) curve. The results show a better torque ripple and current total harmonic distortion concerning the Field Oriented Control technique in nominal conditions.
