Laboratory study and field application of amphiphilic molybdenum disulfide nanosheets for enhanced oil recovery

Ming Qu et al.

Summary: Spherical nanoparticles have been widely studied for enhanced oil recovery, but there is a lack of research on nanosheets. In this study, amphiphilic molybdenum disulfide nanosheets were synthesized and shown to have significant effects on solid surface wettability and emulsion stability at ultra-low concentrations.

Numerical Computation for Gyrotactic Microorganisms in MHD Radiative Eyring-Powell Nanomaterial Flow by a Static/Moving Wedge with Darcy-Forchheimer Relation

Muhammad Faizan Ahmed et al.

Summary: This study conducted a numerical investigation of time-dependent magneto-hydro-dynamics (MHD) Eyring-Powell liquid, considering thermal radiation and the regulation of floating nanoparticles using bioconvection. The study found that bioconvection can stabilize nanoparticles and impact the velocity field and dynamic density distribution.

Hall Current and Soret Effects on Unsteady MHD Rotating Flow of Second-Grade Fluid through Porous Media under the Influences of Thermal Radiation and Chemical Reactions

Omar T. Bafakeeh et al.

Summary: The unsteady MHD free convection heat and mass transfer flow of a viscous, incompressible, and electrically conducting fluid passing through a vertical plate embedded in a porous medium in the presence of chemical reactions and thermal radiation is investigated. Using the perturbation approach, an accurate analytical solution to the governing equations for the fluid velocity, fluid temperature, and species concentration is obtained. The effects of the Hall current, rotation, and Soret are analyzed.

Gyrotactic Motile Microorganisms Impact on Pseudoplastic Nanofluid Flow over a Moving Riga Surface with Exponential Heat Flux

Hassan Waqas et al.

Summary: This article presents a numerical and statistical analysis of a novel thermal radiation and exponential space-based heat source on the bioconvective flow of a pseudoplastic 3D nanofluid past a bidirectional stretched Riga surface. The results show that nanofluids are more efficient in heat transfer and the flow profiles are influenced by various flow control parameters.

Effects of thermophoresis and Brownian motion for thermal and chemically reacting Casson nanofluid flow over a linearly stretching sheet

Jagadish V. Tawade et al.

Summary: This research explores the steady laminar flow of nanofluid on a two-dimensional boundary layer using heat transfer of Casson across a linearly stretching sheet. The study examines the influence of Prandtl number, Brownian motion parameter, Lewis number, thermophoresis, and Casson fluid parameter on the nanoparticle concentration profiles, velocity, and temperature. The results show that the temperature increases as Nt and Nb increase, causing thickening of the thermal boundary layer. Additionally, it is observed that the temperature profile increases for higher values of the Brownian motion parameter, and the energy distribution grows with an increment in the values of the thermophoresis parameter.

The effects of MHD radiating and non-uniform heat source/sink with heating on the momentum and heat transfer of Eyring-Powell fluid over a stretching

Bharatkumar Manvi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the heat dissipation over a layered stretching sheet under the control of magneto-hydrodynamic mixed convective flow of Eyring-Powell fluid. The effects of heat emission and immersion are analyzed. The results show that increasing the thermal stratification parameter reduces fluid velocity and temperature, while the opposite is observed for the heat production variable.

Intestinal Microbiota Regulate Certain Meat Quality Parameters in Chicken

Jiaqi Lei et al.

Summary: The intestinal microbiota has a significant impact on the water-holding capacity of muscles in broilers, influencing meat quality. When raised in the same environment, two native breeds of broilers exhibit similarities in muscle water-holding capacity and gut bacteria compositions. Fecal microbiota transplantation experiments show that remodeling the intestinal microbiota can lead to improvements in muscle characteristics.

Inverse CO2/C2H2 separation in a pillared-layer framework featuring a chlorine-modified channel by quadrupole-moment sieving

Xiu-Yuan Li et al.

Summary: By embedding Cl atoms in MOF, a highly CO2-selective ultramicroporous MOF was constructed for successful inverse CO2/C2H2 separation. Computational studies revealed that the unique pore environment decorated with Cl atoms matches the quadrupole moment of CO2, leading to CO2 recognition mechanism.
