Efficient Rhodamine B Dye Removal from Water by Acid- and Organo-Modified Halloysites

Ewa Wierzbicka et al.

Summary: This study modified halloysite through ultrasound, sulfuric acid, and oligocyclopentadiene resin, and used the modified materials as low-cost adsorbents to remove Rhodamine B dye from water. The experimental results showed that the removal efficiency was strongly pH-dependent, with the highest efficiency at pH 2.0. The adsorption data fit well with the Freundlich isotherm model and the adsorption kinetics followed a pseudo-second-order model.

Experimental and numerical study on diazinon removal using plasma bubble column reactor: Modeling, kinetics, mechanisms, and degradation products

Hiresh Moradi et al.

Summary: This study used experimental and numerical analyses to model and optimize the degradation and mineralization of the pesticide diazinon using non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma. Factors such as the initial concentration of diazinon, pH of the medium, and flow rate of the plasma feeding gas were considered. It was found that the gas composition and flow rate had significant effects on the type and concentration of reactive nitrogen and oxygen species generated. The study also identified the importance of gas flow rate in total organic carbon (TOC) removal. The energy yield of the treatment procedure was high, suggesting the potential of plasma for treating diazinon-polluted water.
