On the asymmetrical connectedness between cryptocurrencies and foreign exchange markets: Evidence from the nonparametric quantile on quantile approach

Syed Ali Raza et al.

Summary: This study employs the quantile on quantile (QQ) regression approach to investigate the relationship between cryptocurrencies and foreign exchange markets. The results show a positive connection between foreign exchange currencies and cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin, at low, high, and middle tail quantiles. However, differences exist across economies and quantiles of virtual currencies and fiat currencies, which can be attributed to variations in economic structure, legal recognition, associated risk, and monetary or macroeconomic policy changes.

Environmental sustainability and public-private partnerships investment in energy in Bangladesh

Dervis Kirikkaleli et al.

Summary: This paper examines the impact of public-private partnerships investment in energy on CO2 emissions in Bangladesh, taking into account economic growth, foreign direct investment, and trade openness. The findings suggest a negative relationship between public-private partnerships investment, economic growth, and trade openness with environmental sustainability. The study recommends investing in technological advancements and promoting green energy through public-private partnerships to manufacture environmentally sustainable goods.

Modelling the effect of renewable energy and public-private partnership in testing EKC hypothesis: Evidence from methods moment of quantile regression

Qiang Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the relationship between renewable resources, public-private partnership investment, and carbon dioxide emissions. The results show the presence of an environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) in lower emission quantiles, but not in higher quantiles. Renewable energy serves as a solution for reducing CO2 emissions in lower and upper quantiles, while the relationship is insignificant in medium quantiles. Public-private partnership investment exhibits similar relationships with CO2 emissions across all quantiles. Therefore, it is recommended that the government invest more resources in renewable energy development and increase public-private partnership investment in environmentally friendly sectors and industries.

The nexus of financial development, natural resource rents, technological innovation, foreign direct investment, energy consumption, human capital, and trade on environmental degradation in the new BRICS economies

Fortune Ganda

Summary: This study examines the interactive impact of financial development and natural resource rents on carbon emissions in the new BRICS economies from 1990 to 2019. The findings show that there is a significant positive relationship between the financial development of financial institutions and financial markets and carbon emissions. Natural resource rents, energy consumption, and human capital are significantly positively related to emissions, while trade is significantly negatively related (mainly for FDI). The interaction between financial development and natural resource rents significantly reduces emissions, while the interaction between trade and financial development increases emissions.
