Trunk kinematics and muscle activation patterns during stand-to-sit movement and the relationship with postural stability in aging

Woohyoung Jeon et al.

Summary: Older adults demonstrated shorter burst duration of RF EMG, reduced trunk flexion, and decreased stability compared to younger adults during the StandTS task. Trunk flexion angle and RF EMG burst duration were correlated with stability.

Between-day repeatability of sensor-based in-home gait assessment among older adults: assessing the effect of frailty

Danya Pradeep Kumar et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the test-retest reliability of DPA gait performance parameters among older adults, finding that most gait performance parameters showed good repeatability while quantitative measures had poor repeatability. Additionally, pre-frail/frail individuals showed higher repeatability in gait performance parameters compared to non-frail individuals, possibly due to reduced functional capacity.
