In vivo study on the healing of bone defect treated with non-thermal atmospheric pressure gas discharge plasma

Summary: The study suggests that non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma (NTAPP) has promising potential for fracture treatment by promoting bone regeneration. The most successful bone regeneration was observed after a 10-minute plasma treatment, resulting in 1.51 times more new bone volume compared to the control group. Additionally, nucleated cells were uniformly distributed in the plasma treatment groups without any inclusion, indicating effective bone filling in critical large bone defects.
