PVDF/BNNSs nanocomposite membrane for simultaneous removal of Tetracycline and Ofloxacin from water

Prachi Awasthi et al.

Summary: In this study, boron nitride nanosheets (BNNSs) were synthesized and incorporated in polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-based membranes for simultaneous removal of tetracycline (TC) and ofloxacin (OFL) from water. The BNNSs-PVDF membrane exhibited a maximum adsorption capacity of 470.4 mg g(-1) for the TC and OFL mixture and showed good regeneration behavior. These results demonstrate the potential of the synthesized membrane for removing TC and OFL from contaminated water.

Facile self-assembly-based fabrication of a polyvinylidene fluoride nanofiber membrane with immobilized titanium dioxide nanoparticles for dye wastewater treatment

Mijeong Park et al.

Summary: In this study, a versatile and facile self-assembly approach was used to fabricate a reusable photocatalytic membrane based on polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) fibers with immobilized high loading content of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles. The photocatalytic performance of the membrane was significantly enhanced when the loading of TiO2 nanoparticles was higher. Additionally, the membrane exhibited excellent reusability.

Graphene oxide membranes with stable porous structure for ultrafast water transport

Wen-Hai Zhang et al.

Summary: The study presents a highly stable and ultrapermeable zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8)-nanocrystal-hybridized graphene oxide membrane prepared using ice templating and in situ crystallization of ZIF-8. The selective growth of ZIF-8 in microporous defects enhances water permeability and mechanical integrity, leading to a 30-fold increase in permeability compared to graphene oxide membranes (GOms). The technique also improves permselectivity and offers potential for developing next-generation nanofiltration membranes.
