Baryon acoustic oscillations in thin redshift shells from BOSS DR12 and eBOSS DR16 galaxies

Ranier Menote et al.

Summary: In this study, a model independent analysis is conducted to measure the baryon acoustic oscillations by analyzing the galaxies in the redshift range 0.32 < z < 0.66 from BOSS DR12 and eBOSS DR16 datasets. The analysis is carried out using thin redshift shells, introducing the fiducial model only when considering mock catalogues. The measurements are compared to the constraints from Planck 2018, showing good compatibility.

Elucidating cosmological model dependence with H-0

Eoin O. Colgain et al.

Summary: Studies have found that in specific cosmological models, errors on the Hubble constant H-0 may be larger than in Gaussian processes (GP) data reconstruction, attributed to stronger correlations. Additionally, cosmographic expansions can serve as another model-independent cosmological reconstruction method. Research indicates that cosmological model independence, especially in the discussion of Hubble tension, is no longer valid.

Light dark matter: Acommon solution to the lithium and H0 problems

Jailson Alcaniz et al.

Summary: The standard cosmological model is facing tensions and discrepancies between early and late cosmological observations, such as the H-0 tension problem and the discrepancy in cosmological lithium abundance. Research suggests that a mechanism of light dark matter production may hold the answer to these issues, reconciling the discrepancies.

BAO angular scale at zeff=0.11 with the SDSS blue galaxies

E. de Carvalho et al.

Summary: In this study, the transverse baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) signal in the local Universe was measured using blue galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) survey as a cosmological tracer. The results show the detection of the transverse BAO signal at z=0.11.

In the realm of the Hubble tension-a review of solutions *

Eleonora Di Valentino et al.

Summary: There are significant discrepancies in predictions of the Hubble constant, leading to various proposed solutions including new physics theories or modifications to existing cosmological models. Some solutions successfully reduce tension and improve agreement with data, while many others fail to do so, highlighting the need for further research and evidence.

To H0 or not to H0?

George Efstathiou

Summary: This paper investigates whether changes to late-time physics can resolve the 'Hubble tension', arguing that claims in favor of such solutions are often based on misunderstandings of distance ladder measurements. An observationally constrained inverse distance ladder was used to show that changes to late-time physics cannot resolve the discrepancy between SH0ES data and the base ΛCDM cosmology, proposing a statistically rigorous scheme to replace the use of H-0 priors.

Adam G. Riess et al.

Summary: This study recalibrated the extragalactic distance ladder and refined the determination of the Hubble constant using Hubble Space Telescope and Gaia EDR3 data. The results, based on Milky Way Cepheids observations and estimates, are in good agreement with conclusions based on earlier Gaia data releases.
