Extra dimensions with light and heavy neutral leptons: an application to CEνNS

Amir N. Khan

Summary: We explore the possibility of connecting extra dimensions with light and heavy Dirac-type neutral leptons and establish a framework for testing them in laboratory experiments. The Kaluza-Klein modes in large extra dimension models of light neutral leptons can mix with standard model neutrinos and have observable effects in oscillation experiments. Chirality flipping up-scattering processes caused by neutrino magnetic dipole moment or weakly coupled scalar interactions can also produce heavy Kaluza-Klein modes of corresponding right-handed neutral leptons propagating in extra dimensions. We derive constraints on the size of extra dimensions using COHERENT data in oscillation and up-scattering processes.

Deep-learning-based reconstruction of the neutrino direction and energy for in-ice radio detectors

C. Glaser et al.

Summary: This study presents an end-to-end reconstruction of the energy and direction of ultra-high-energy neutrinos using deep neural networks (DNNs) in ice radio detector data. The DNN achieves a standard deviation of a factor of two in energy determination and precise prediction of neutrino direction, meeting the scientific requirements of UHE neutrino detectors.

Probing new physics at future tau neutrino telescopes

Guo-Yuan Huang et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates new physics scenarios that can modify the interactions between neutrinos and matter, with a focus on the importance of tau neutrino telescopes in probing physics associated with the second and third generations. By analyzing experimental configurations and numerically solving propagation equations, the study obtains the sensitivities of upcoming tau neutrino telescopes to charged Higgs and leptoquark models. The combination of different telescopes is complementary in exploring new physics.

High-energy and ultra-high-energy neutrinos: A Snowmass white paper

Markus Ackermann et al.

Summary: Astrophysical neutrinos are important for studying astrophysics and high-energy physics. They have high energies and can probe fundamental physics at scales ranging from the TeV scale to the EeV scale and beyond. By studying their production mechanisms and propagation, we can gain insights into physics within and beyond the Standard Model. Neutrinos also provide unique information about extreme non-thermal sources in regions opaque to electromagnetic radiation.

Effects of non-standard interaction on microscopic black holes from ultra-high energy neutrinos

Ashutosh Kumar Alok et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of non-standard interaction on the production of high multiplicity events. The research reveals that new physics has inconsequential impact on the number of events produced through the generation of black holes, only providing a marginal deviation. Thus, a significant increase in the number of shower events can provide unambiguous signatures of TeV scale gravity in the form of microscopic black hole production.

Detection of a particle shower at the Glashow resonance with IceCube

M. G. Aartsen et al.

Summary: The Glashow resonance, observed at 6.3 PeV in the rest frame of an electron, was detected by the IceCube neutrino observatory through a particle shower with an energy of 6.05 +/- 0.72 PeV, providing evidence of astrophysical sources and validating the standard model of particle physics. The unique signature of the Glashow resonance allows for distinguishing neutrinos from antineutrinos, contributing to the advancement of neutrino astronomy.
