Optimisation of tool path shape in trochoidal milling using B-spline curves

Summary: Trochoidal milling has gained popularity in recent years due to its high productivity and long tool life in cutting difficult-to-machine materials. This study proposes a new tool path generation algorithm that maximizes the average material removal rate while controlling the tool load. The results show that this method exceeds existing methods in terms of productivity and offers improved control over tool load and path smoothness.
