Development of a vertex finding algorithm using Recurrent Neural Network

Kiichi Goto et al.

Summary: Deep learning has the potential to greatly enhance the physics reach of collider experiments. In this study, we developed a novel vertex finding algorithm for future lepton colliders like the International Linear Collider. We utilized two networks: one for identifying vertex seeds from track pairs using simple fully-connected layers, and the other, a customized Recurrent Neural Network with an attention mechanism and encoder-decoder structure, for associating tracks with the vertex seeds. The performance of the vertex finder was compared with the standard ILC vertex reconstruction algorithm.

Measurement of the inclusive and differential WZ production cross sections, polarization angles, and triple gauge couplings in pp collisions at √s=13 TeV

A. Tumasyan et al.

Summary: The associated production of W and Z bosons in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV is studied using the CMS detector at the LHC. Measurements of the total inclusive production cross section, as well as fiducial and differential cross sections for key observables, are performed. The results include the first observation of longitudinally polarized W bosons in WZ production and provide new constraints on beyond-the-standard-model contributions.

Breaking down the entire spectrum of spin correlations of a pair of particles involving fermions and gauge bosons

Rafiqul Rahaman et al.

Summary: We discuss a formalism for spin correlations and polarizations in two-particle systems with different spins. The formalism is demonstrated in the processes e-e+-> t t over line, gb -> tW-, and e-e+ -> ZZ in the standard model. We investigate the effect of anomalous couplings on polarizations and spin correlations in these processes and compare their strengths. The results show that spin correlations have the potential to provide a significant improvement over polarizations in probing anomalous couplings.

Anomalous gauge couplings vis-a-vis (g-2)μ and flavor observables

Debajyoti Choudhury et al.

Summary: In this study, nonstandard triple gauge couplings are reassessed in light of recent experimental measurements and lattice theory results. The contributions of these couplings to low-energy observables are computed using three bosonic dimension-6 operators. Constraints on the corresponding Wilson coefficients are derived from fitting to experimental bounds and compared with constraints from LHC data.

Phenomenology of vector-like leptons with Deep Learning at the Large Hadron Collider

Felipe F. Freitas et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a model inspired by Grand Unification principles that includes three generations of vector-like fermions, new Higgs doublets, and a rich neutrino sector at the low scale. By using state-of-the-art Deep Learning techniques, the first phenomenological analysis of this model is performed, focusing on new charged vector-like leptons and their possible signatures at the LHC. Results show that the proposed method can detect new VLLs before the end of LHC operations and provide important information to constrain the energy scale at which new gauge symmetries emerge.

Summary: This article explores the potential use of supervised deep neural networks to identify semi-visible jets, finding that dynamic graph convolutional neural networks outperform traditional convolutional neural networks. The research suggests that adjusting the training samples can reduce model dependence, and using dynamic graph networks as dark shower taggers can significantly enhance LHC sensitivity to dark sectors.

Measurements of W+W-+ ≥ 1 jet production cross-sections in pp collisions at s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

G. Aad et al.

Summary: The study presents normalized and differential cross-section measurements of W+W- production in association with at least one hadronic jet using proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment. It provides sensitivity to the properties of electroweak-boson self-interactions and serves as a test of perturbative quantum chromodynamics and the electroweak theory. Anomalies in triple-gauge-boson couplings are constrained in a phase space where interference between the Standard Model and anomalous amplitudes is enhanced.
