Post-traumatic hypertension: when nerves break down

Summary: This study aimed to describe the natural history of ABF based on a systematic review of clinical and laboratory data from Mayo Clinic Rochester. The most common etiology of ABF was head and neck radiation, with manifestations including hypertension, fluctuating blood pressure, orthostatic hypotension, syncope, headache, and tachycardia. Management may require both antihypertensive and pressor medications due to the high morbidity and mortality associated with ABF.
