Rapid prototyping-assisted tooth autotransplantation is associated with a reduced root canal treatment rate: a retrospective cohort study

Lisa Alice Hwang et al.

Summary: This study is a retrospective cohort study that investigates the application of rapid prototyping-assisted autotransplantation in adult populations. The results show that the use of rapid prototyping-assisted autotransplantation can shorten the extra-alveolar time, reduce the need for root canal treatment, and achieve a high survival rate of transplanted teeth.

Six-year follow-up assessment of prosthesis survival and oral health-related quality of life in individuals with partial edentulism treated with three types of prosthodontic rehabilitation

Yoko Kurosaki et al.

Summary: This study compared the long-term performance of three prostheses for partial edentulism (IFD, FPD, RPD) in terms of prosthesis survival and OHRQoL. IFDs showed significantly longer survival rates than FPDs and RPDs in partially edentulous patients. Only in the IFD patients was the OHRQoL level six years after treatment significantly higher than that before treatment.
