Houda El Alami et al.

Summary: This paper presents a new contribution of the nonlinear control technique in harnessing electrical energy in a wind energy system. The proposed model uses the nonlinear sliding mode technique to control the power of the DFIG-Generator, which is connected to the power grid via two converters. The model is validated through tracking and robustness tests using real wind speed. The control system is developed using Matlab/Simulink, and the FPGA in the Loop technique is employed to design the DFIG model. Through co-simulation, the proposed model demonstrates high efficiency in terms of speed and robustness, with a THD rate of 0.95, and the sliding mode controller shows significant improvement in the quality of energy produced by the wind system.
