Modified monoclinic metastable β-MoO3 submicrospheres: controllable preparation, phase identification, and their formation mechanisms

Lu Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, modified monoclinic metastable beta-MoO3 submicrospheres, also known as N-doped beta-MoO3-theta, were prepared using industrial MoO3 as the raw material. The phase composition of the product was found to be independent of the reaction temperature and cooling condition, but strongly influenced by the pumping speed of the system. The optimal conditions for producing uniform N-doped beta-MoO3-theta submicrospheres were identified as 1273 K, water cooling, and a pumping speed of 4-15 cm/s. Additionally, cracking phenomena were observed on the surface of large MoO3 particles under certain cooling and pumping speed conditions, and possible cracking mechanisms were proposed.

Co-doped hierarchical microrods: Synthesis, structure and phonon properties

Caique D. A. Lima et al.

Summary: In this study, the structural and phonon properties of cobalt-doped orthorhombic molybdenum trioxide hierarchical microrods were investigated. The impact of different cobalt concentrations and a temperature-dependent phase transition were observed, providing insights into the material stability under varying conditions.

Sublimation Behavior of Industrial Grade Molybdenum Trioxide

Lu Wang et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the sublimation kinetics and mechanism of MoO3 at different temperatures, finding that sublimation processes were controlled by surface chemical reactions or diffusion under different conditions, with corresponding activation energies extracted. By using the lever principle, the weight ratio of melting to vaporization in different cases was estimated.

Dy-doped MoO3 nanobelts synthesized via hydrothermal route: Influence of Dy contents on the structural, morphological and optical properties

Sapan Kumar Sen et al.

Summary: This experimental work investigated undoped and Dy-doped MoO3 nanobelts with different doping concentrations synthesized via hydrothermal route. The influence of Dy dopant contents on structural, morphological, elemental, functional, and optical properties of MoO3 nanobelts was studied. The results showed that Dy doping affects the microstructural, morphological, and optical characteristics of MoO3 nanobelts, while having minimal impact on morphology.
