Childhood, Adulthood, and Cumulative Interpersonal Violence as Determinants of Suicide Risk among University Students

Summary: This study found that violence experiences have a significant impact on suicide risk among university students, especially with cumulative violence increasing the risk by 3.8 times. Experiencing violence in adulthood also predicted nearly thrice the odds of suicide risk. These results remained significant even after adjusting for psychological distress and life satisfaction.

Summary: Parental substance use, including alcohol and illicit drugs, can negatively impact children's educational outcomes in areas such as achievement, behavior, attendance, school enjoyment, satisfaction, and academic self-concept. However, there are limited studies in the current literature on this topic, indicating gaps and challenges in the research. Recommendations are made for further research and interventions to address the impact of parental substance use on child educational outcomes.
