Complex Magnetic Anomaly Detection Using Structured Low-Rank Approximation With Total Variation Regularization

Huan Liu et al.

Summary: A novel magnetic anomaly detection (MAD) method based on structured low rank (SLR) and total variation (TV) regularization constraints is proposed to improve noise suppression performance and preserve clean boundaries. Field tests show that the proposed SLR-TV method achieves the greatest SNR improvement and the best structural similarity (SSIM) improvement compared to other methods.

Hyperspectral image mixed noise removal via tensor robust principal component analysis with tensor-ring decomposition

Xiaoshuang Xu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a mixed-noise removal method for hyperspectral images (HSIs) by combining the denoising advantages of tensor-ring (TR) decomposition and tensor robust principal component analysis (TRPCA). The proposed method accurately recovers the low-rank and sparse parts of the image and separates the sparse noise in the form of sparse tensors. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed TRPCA-TR method outperforms traditional denoising methods and existing improved denoising methods in terms of visual and quantitative evaluations.

Evaluation Method for Airborne Full Magnetic Gradient Tensor Data Measured Over a Survey Area

Ke Liu et al.

Summary: Airborne surveys of the full magnetic gradient tensor are useful in various studies, but the quality of the measurements can be affected by gradiometer limitations, platform interference, and flight environment complexity. We propose an evaluation method for AFMGT data without the need for independent referencing data, utilizing the harmonicity property for all tensor components. Our method represents the high-order and spatially correlated measurements using tensors, validated through simulations and field experiments. This work serves as a foundation for instrument manufacturing and quality control.

Noise Suppression for Vector Magnetic Anomaly Detection by Noise Spatial Characteristics Investigation

Ying Shen et al.

Summary: This method suppresses noise in vector magnetic anomaly detection by analyzing noise spatial characteristics and finding a projection direction with minimum fluctuations for the projected noise. By processing the projected signal with a vector orthogonal basis functions (OBFs) detector, a 3 dB higher signal to noise ratio (SNR) is achieved compared to traditional OBFs filters, effectively suppressing low-frequency noise and obtaining weak target signals.

High-Order Directional Total Variation for Seismic Noise Attenuation

Xingye Liu et al.

Summary: A high-order directional total variation (HDTV) method for seismic denoising is developed, considering the local structural direction and higher order derivatives to avoid the staircasing effect. Comparative tests with synthetic models and field seismic data sets demonstrate better denoising performance of the proposed method compared to first-order DTV and conventional high-order TV methods.

Second-order synchroextracting wavelet transform for nonstationary signal analysis of rotating machinery

Bo Han et al.

Summary: A novel TFA method called second-order synchroextracting wavelet transform (SSEWT) is proposed for characterizing nonstationary signals with widely changing instantaneous frequency features. This method extends the existing synchroextracting transform to the context of wavelet transform and introduces the second-order instantaneous frequency estimate to enhance its processing capability for nonstationary signals. The SSEWT provides concentrated time-frequency representation with multiple resolutions and maintains good invertibility.
