The DESPEC setup for GSI and FAIR

A. K. Mistry et al.

Summary: This paper reports on the first application of the DESPEC setup in hybrid configuration with the AIDA implanter, FATIMA LaBr3(Ce) fast-timing array, and high-purity germanium detectors. Initial results of the experiments are presented. An overview of the setup, its function and technical advancements are discussed.

Commissioning the FAst TIMing array (FATIMA) at FAIR Phase-0: Half-lives of excited states in the N=50 isotones 96Pd and 94Ru

S. Jazrawi et al.

Summary: This paper reports the results of the first experiment of the DESPEC Phase-0 campaign at GSI, focusing on the study of neutron-deficient nuclei approaching 100Sn. The experiment provides insights into the electromagnetic transition rates associated with the decays of excited states in 94Ru and 96Pd isotopes.

Evidence of Partial Seniority Conservation in the πg9/2 Shell for the N=50 Isotones

R. M. Perez-Vidal et al.

Summary: The reduced transition probabilities of certain nuclear states have been determined using a multinucleon transfer reaction, and the results have been interpreted using shell-model calculations. The findings suggest that seniority conservation is largely maintained in a specific orbital.

Nature of seniority symmetry breaking in the semimagic nucleus 94Ru

B. Das et al.

Summary: Lifetime measurements of low-lying states in the semimagic nucleus Ru-94 were conducted using a fast timing detector array. The experiment revealed unexpected enhancements and prohibitive transitions, which provided stringent tests for nucleon-nucleon interactions employed in theoretical model calculations.

The (6+) isomer in 102Sn revisited: Neutron and proton effective charges close to the double shell closure

H. Grawe et al.

Summary: In a high-energy fragmentation experiment at GSI, an I-pi = (6(+)) isomer and its gamma-decay were identified in Sn-102, with a half-life of T-1/2 = 367(11) ns. The possible existence of further isomers was discussed in the framework of large-scale shell model calculations, including up to five particle-hole excitations of the Sn-100 core.

Enhanced quadrupole collectivity in doubly-magic 56Ni: Lifetime measurements of the 41+ and 61+ states

K. Arnswald et al.

Summary: Lifetime measurements of excited states in doubly-magic Ni-56 were conducted to determine reduced transition probabilities, showing high E2 strength and collectivity. Comparisons with different calculation methods were made, indicating a possible similar collective behavior in the 6(1)(+) state of Sn-100.
