Prediction of unconventional magnetism in doped FeSb2

Igor I. Mazin et al.

Summary: The article discusses a new type of spin splitting in materials that exhibit characteristics of both ferromagnets and antiferromagnets. Through alloying, the material FeSb2 can become magnetic and metallic, with a large anomalous Hall conductivity and significant magneto-optical Kerr effect. The large contribution to the anomalous response originates from the spin-orbit interaction gapped anti-Kramers nodal surfaces, a mechanism distinct from nodal lines and Weyl points in ferromagnets.
